My Top 3 Trader Joe’s Beauty Products Your Skin will Thank You for…
TRADER JOE’S BLUEBERRY ACAI FACIAL SCRUB | The first skincare product I want to talk about is their Blueberry Acai Facial Scrub. This retails for only $5.99 and it will be the best six bucks you have ever invested. Not only is it PETA approved as one of their favorite vegan skincare products, but it will truly make your skin GLOW (FYI: I hate using Instagram-Beauty Influencer-Buzzwords, but in this case I have too). The scrub is full of AHA’s or alpha hydroxy acids, that will exfoliate and brighten your skin. As soon as you open the jar, you will immediately encounter the smell of blueberry. This is due to the blueberry extract which is the first ingredient after water (or the second most used ingredient). For those that do not know; product ingredients are listed in order of amount used. Thus, the antioxidant-rich blueberry is one of the most used in this scrub. The packaging is in a heavy glass jar. Although, I prefer skincare products to be packaged in a tube or a bottle with a pump, as it is more sanitary and travel-friendly, I’m okay with this jar. It isn’t too big, making it somewhat more travel-friendly. Additionally, if use a clean, small spatula or spoon, the product will not be contaminated with your fingers. WATER (AQUA), VACCINIUM ANGUSTIFOLIUM (BLUEBERRY) FRUIT, COLLOIDAL OATMEAL, CITRIC ACID, MALIC ACID, LACTIC ACID, MAGNESIUM ALUMINUM SILICATE, CETYL ALCOHOL, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER, STEARYL ALCOHOL, FLAVOR, POLYLACTIC ACID, VACCINIUM CORYMBOSUM (BLUEBERRY) SEED, EUTERPE OLERACEA (AÇAÍ) FRUIT EXTRACT, CETEARETH-20, CYAMOPSIS TETRAGONOLOBA (GUAR) GUM, XANTHAN GUM, GLYCERIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, LEUCONOSTOC/ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF/SORBUS AUCUPARIA FRUIT FERMENT FILTRATE, DAUCUS CAROTA SATIVA (CARROT) ROOT EXTRACT, LIMNANTHES ALBA (MEADOWFOAM) SEED OIL, URTICA DIOICA (NETTLE) EXTRACT, ACACIA SENEGAL FLOWER/STEM EXTRACT, ADANSONIA DIGITATA (BAOBAB) EXTRACT, ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS (ROSEMARY) LEAF EXTRACT, LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) FLOWER EXTRACT.
TRADER JOE’S ROSE OIL ULTRA MOISTURIZING HAND CREAM | Since I have been plagued with dry skin my entire life, any remedy, even the smallest possibility of relief, will have me foaming at the mouth (in a good way - not a Pet Cemetery / Sometimes They Come Back - sort of way). This hand cream is unbelievably thick, yet melts into your skin without leaving a tacky residue. The smell is a light rose - similar to rose water. The fragrance is not overpowering and does not linger around like an albatross waiting to kill you. I was also impressed that the second ingredient listed was Shea Butter. I did not have any irritation and my sensitive skin loved it. And at only $4.99 for a three-ounce tube, I’ll take three at a time! Dry hands-and-feet-be-gone :)
TRADER JOE’S RICH HYDRATING FACE SHEET MASK | Last but never least, the third member to this gorgeous Trader Joe’s beauty haul is the Trader Joe’s Rich Hydrating Face Sheet Mask. As soon as I opened it’s packaging, the first thing I noticed was the scent of cucumber. I thought the smell was pleasant, however, if you are sensitive to fragrance, you may find it to be a bit much. After applying to my face and leaving on for the suggested 20 minutes, my skin felt soft and refreshed. I made sure to also gently press the remaining serum into my skin. As someone with both sensitive and reactive skin, I did not have any issues (redness/breakouts), immediately after, or the next day. All in all, I really liked this sheet mask and at $1.99, I will add this to my skincare product bathroom stash and will no doubt add to my regular routine. Although, I do wish that the last ingredient used wasn’t Hyaluronic Acid. Why you ask? Because this ingredient is what is used in injectable fillers and plumps the skin by its incredible ability to hold up to 1,000x its weight in water. IT SHOULD BE AT THE TOP OF THE INGREDIENTS LIST! Do you hear me, Trader Joe’s Gods!!!!
WATER (AQUA), GLYCERIN, HONEY (CLOVER), PHENOXYETHANOL, NATURAL CUCUMBER FRAGRANCE, XANTHAN GUM, ASCROBYL GLUCOSIDE, ETHYLHEXYGLYCERIN, ROSA CANINA (ROSE HIP) FRUIT OIL), CAMELLIA OLEIFERA (CAMELLIA) SEED OIL, CITRIC ACID, MATRICARIA RECUTITA (CHAMOMILE) EXTRACT, CURCUMA LONGA (TURMERIC) ROOT EXTRACT, CAMELLIA SINENSIS (GREEN TEA) LEAF EXTRACT, PUNICA GRANATUM (POMEGRANATE) EXTRACT, PROPOLIS EXTRACT, HASLEA OSTREAIA (BLUE AGAVE) EXTRACT, HYALURONIC ACID.
